Book salon

November 19th, 20:00 - 21:45

- DKK 50,00

We’re reading Warm Hands by Stine Askov.

How do you act in the world when you feel both indispensable and inadequate at the same time?
That’s the question Stine Askov explores in Warm Hands, best described as a social-realist care-giver thriller.

We’ll talk about everyday heroes and villains – and what happens when the strong no longer have the energy to care for the vulnerable.

Who are the two main characters, Camilla and Mathilde? Do they feel like fully formed individuals from the reader’s perspective?

Stine Askov has stated: “As a welfare worker, you are by nature inadequate.” What does she mean by that?
We’ll dive into this as well, along with a discussion about expectations, limitations, and the taboo feelings Camilla has about her professional life. Are those feelings relatable, even for people outside the healthcare sector?

The evening’s salon host is Katrine Ekman.

We’ll be serving coffee and tea during the book salon.
