Easter with us in Hornbæk
During Easter, you can, among other things, join a traditional Easter lunch at long communal tables, go on a birdwatching walk in nature, or try your luck at Easter bingo. There are also creative workshops with Easter embroidery, an egg hunt in the garden, and twist bread baked over an open fire. Enrumgaard will stop by with a coachman and horse-drawn carriage and invite you on a cozy spring ride through Hornbæk.
On Saturday, April 4, craftspeople from near and far will present their work when we open our doors for the Spring Market. Everyone is welcome to explore the stalls with ceramics, woodcraft, textiles, jewelry, paper art, and much more—and to meet the artists behind the works. You will also be able to find plants and cuttings for the garden outdoors under the pergola.
Our regular activities continue as always, including morning yoga and, of course, communal dining every evening at 7:00 PM.

Pia Fonnesbech art exhibition
We are happy to once again collaborate with the artist Pia Fonnesbech, who brings colors, shapes, and inspiration into the house.
“When I walk around here, I feel as if I’m walking inside a painting,” Pia said about our first collaboration. And that is exactly the feeling we share when Pia fills our living rooms with her paintings—where the art does not merely hang on the walls but becomes part of the place itself.
Over the past 15 years, Pia has worked with patterns by Josef Frank, which are also a source of inspiration for several of the wallpapers and textiles at Hornbækhus. These plays of color and pattern appear in many of her paintings as floral backgrounds and various wallpapers, where we can recognize the house’s own aesthetic reflected in the works.
The exhibition can be experienced from January 31 to April 20.
Visit from an owl
In one of the large, old trees in front of the house lives an owl. It has made the hotel’s surroundings its permanent home and has now become a loyal regular guest. It never checks out and quietly keeps to itself while watching life at the hotel from its spot in the tree.
If you happen to spot it, children are welcome to come up with a name for the owl, which for now is simply called “the regular in the tree.” In the past, guests and locals have suggested names such as “Hornbæk-Ole,” “Hornbæk Owl,” “Ulla,” and “Lennart” (named after the hotel’s owner), but the owl has not yet made up its mind.
So remember to look up at the big tree in front of the house when you visit us.
